Your automatic transmission, like the rest of your car, requires regular preventative maintenance to avoid premature wear and costly repairs.

Today’s transmissions consist of thousands of moving and friction parts operating under substantial stress, which creates heat, pressure and friction.
Your transmission’s 'friction materials' slowly wear under normal operation produceing millions of tiny abrasive metal particles that are carried through your transmission by the oil.

Over time, these contaminants break down the transmission fluid, and if not regularly serviced, incurs wear that could lead to parts failure, overheating or a complete breakdown.

Most transmission services can be performed on site.

PRICE: On application as prices vary from car to car.

TRANSMISSION SERVICE COMPONENTS

Servicing an automatic transmission involves:
Draining transmission of fluid & contaminants
Removal of transmission pan
Clean non sealed units
Check for excessive contaminants
Check for signs of overheating
Clean/Replace filter as required
Adjust & inspect bands &/or controls
Refit pan with new gasket non sealed units
Refill with specified transmission fluid
Check for transmission oil leaks

HANDY HINTS

MAINTENANCE
Regularly check your fluid levels and top-up to specified levels. Low levels can cause accelerated wear to your transmission. It is important that these levels are correct to avoid the transmission to overheat and wear prematurely.

SERVICING
Service your transmission regularly (we recommend annually or every 20,000 Kms).
Over time, transmission fluid will deteriorate and harmful contaminants build up. Regular service and fluid and filter changes will keep your transmission healthier longer.

KEEPING YOUR TRANSMISSION HEALTHY
Regularly check for fluid leaks & rectify small problems before they become big ones.

Avoid hard acceleration which increases friction
& heat causing premature wear.

Excessive heat is the most common cause of transmission failure. A cars cooling system not only keeps the engine from overheating, it also cools the transmission, so keeping the cooling system in good order is essential.

Consider installing an external transmission cooler, especially if you tow or regularly drive in hilly terrain.

Avoid push starting or towing (other than on the back of a tow truck). Major transmission damage can occur if towed incorrectly.
