HANDY HINTS
MAINTENANCE
Regularly
check your fluid levels and
top-up to specified levels. Low levels can cause accelerated wear to your transmission. It is important that these levels are correct to avoid
the transmission to overheat and wear prematurely.
SERVICING
Service
your transmission regularly (we recommend annually or every
20,000 Kms).
Over time, transmission fluid will deteriorate
and harmful contaminants build up. Regular service and
fluid and filter changes will keep your transmission healthier
longer.
KEEPING YOUR TRANSMISSION HEALTHY
Regularly check for fluid leaks & rectify small problems
before they become big ones.
Avoid hard
acceleration which increases friction
& heat
causing premature wear.
Excessive
heat is the most common cause of transmission failure. A cars cooling system not only keeps the engine from
overheating, it also cools the transmission, so keeping the cooling system in good order is essential.
Consider installing an external transmission cooler, especially
if you tow or regularly drive in hilly terrain.
Avoid push starting or towing (other
than on the back of a tow truck). Major transmission damage
can occur if towed incorrectly.
